Spotlight Ticket Management Releases Study on Corporate Sports Ticket Spending
June 21, 2016Stunning data shows $3,000 luxury suites translate into over $2.5M in potential sales

Spotlight Ticket Management, the leading provider of corporate sports and entertainment ticket management programs, has released a study on corporate sports ticket spending and the ROI it has on potential sales. In 2012 companies spent over $20 billion dollars on sports and entertainment tickets worldwide and the data collected by Spotlight was compiled from over 4,000 companies and 50 teams managed by the company. The highlights shed new light on the seriousness of having fun at the game.
The Spotlight study shows that for every $154 a company spends on sports tickets, they are entertaining over $160,000 in potential business for an astonishing 1,998% ROI. The most impressive measurement is with luxury suite seating. Spotlight’s report cites the average price of a luxury suite owned by a company at $3,080 with potential revenue being hosted per game at $2.58 million.
“These numbers are staggering but not surprising,” said Tony Knopp, CEO of Spotlight Ticket Management. “Taking customers and prospects out to the ball game has always been a smart way to nurture current business and secure new deals.” Since 2007, Spotlight Ticket Management has been working with major corporations to help optimize and measure their ticket programs through sports team corporate sponsorships, bulk ticket buying and luxury suites.
The Spotlight Corporate Customer Study pulls from actual data compiled on over 5 million tickets under management annually, data that is entered directly by major corporations over the course of yearly business. According to Knopp, closing a deal during commercial breaks in the bleachers or a luxury suite isn’t new but the ability to measure which sales people, which teams, and which events have the most value is the key to a successful sports ticket program. “Innovation in technology has helped businesses become smarter in identifying which processes save both time and money. We are proud our Spotlight tools are bringing transparency so companies can track, measure and identify what is working.”
The numbers speak for themselves: tickets mean business. To find out more information, view the 2012 Corporate Consumer Ticket Study.
